Chavutti Thirumal is a massage from Kerala in South India, developed
originally for practitioners of the South Indian martial art of Kalari.
They and the Kathakali dancers have this massage to help them become more
supple and flexible. It is also given to those not involved in regular
physical exercise.
The full body oil massage is given with the feet, allowing long continuous
strokes to be made with controlled pressure, covering all muscles and
ligaments.

Chavutti Thirumal stimulates the circulatory and immune systems, relaxing
the muscles and encourages energy and blood flow. In India, for the full
rejuvenating effect, the massage is given on ten consecutive days or up to a
week apart. One massage is also very beneficial. A session takes from one and
a half to two hours.
Kriya breathing is a series of yoga breathing exercises working down
through the body to cleanse and stimulate the internal organs. These powerful
exercises help to bring a feeling of calmness and centering and can be used as
a preparation for meditation.
