Stuart Taylor - 3rd Dan

Poet & Social Enterprise Manager

Stuart began his Aikido practice in London during the early 1980’s with Kanetsuka Sensei, Director of the British Aikido Federation. After a break of several years, he began training again whilst studying Contemporary Dance at Laban. Between 1986 and in the late 1990’s Stuart studied with Paul at and at Goldsmiths Aikido club with John and Carol Ferris, Peri Macintosh and Karen Lowe.

During 2001-2004 Stuart was based in Leicester, whilst there he practiced with Peter Brown 6th Dan. In 2004 Stuart returned to London and has practiced Aikido and Kashima Shinryu since then with Paul at Tetsushinkan. Stuart attended the course led by Inaba Sensei in Wales in 2006, he has also trained at the New York Aikikai and elsewhere in the UK with, Ezra Sensei, Minegishi Sensei and with Jessica Loeb. Stuart teaches the Tuesday evening class at Tetsushinkan for children 10-15yrs. In June 2010 Stuart was awarded 3rd Dan by Paul Smith, endorsed by Araya Kancho, Head of Meiji Jingu Shiseikan Dojo. Stuart is Chair of movingeast.
